Barb Biffle is "Heartland Tales & Tunes"
Upcoming Shows
Sunday April 14, 2024
2 pm - Deer Springs Winery
(Welcome Spring...we hope...or another blizzard!)
NOTE: After April, we will be back playing inside at Deer Springs Winery in the Autumn months. Till then, enjoy the wines and the outdoor ambience at the Winery!
After entertaining audiences solo as B-Cubed Music (2016-2023), as part of the duos Whoozon1st Band (2011-2016), and Wee Brazen Hussies (2004-2011), a diagnosis of a bad back and neck led to the decision to end B-Cubed because of all the equipment to haul to gigs, and thus was born Heartland Tales & Tunes!
Heartland Tales & Tunes brings small groups a unique presentation by weaving fascinating local and regional historical tidbits and a song or two of the era into a 30-60 minute show. Each will be liberally sprinkled with humor and audience engagement.
Presentations revolve around monthly themes, unless something else is requested. The songs will be familiar, and may be accompanied on simple folk instruments. No heavy stuff to haul or set up. And folks usually sing along because the songs are familiar and fun.
From February 18th Show at Deer Springs Winery. Topics for stories and songs included The Underground Railroad, Mail Order Brides and Dating in the 1800's, Grover Cleveland Alexander and Tongue Twisters from the Old Country.

The image for the new venture is a quilt block, sewn in 1915 by Barb's grandmother, Grace McKinley Smith...Barb used Grace McKinley as her radio name for Celtic Heartland. And since she will now be Heartland Tales & Tunes, it only seems fitting to use the quilt block.
